I don't disagree and I'm sure you weren't intending to oversimplify, but surely we all know that it's far more complex than that:
As I've said before, after a certain level of indoctrination,
"experience" had the least to do with it. It was the compartmentalized mental impairment and deterioration caused by immersion in the mixed, often toxic caldron of predispositions, vulnerabilities, chasing rainbows, idealism, high-minded/noble aspirations, escapism, pain avoidance, thirst, longing, emptiness, laziness, satsang, planted expectations, agya, darshan, devotion, grace, effort, mind, fear, misperceived cause and effect, suppression, denial, low self-esteem/self-rejection,
(conversely) spiritual ego/superiority, insecurity, false dependencies, emotional immaturity, repetitive reinforcement, coercive mind control, imagination, doubling-down to preserve over-investment... and what not.

My point is that the reasons premies remain(ed) stuck in that cult for so long are far more complex, insideous and debilitating than simply believing in something that's wrong. The question is how, why and what prevents them from recognizing that it's wrong. Books have been written about it and yet the answers remain complex, elusive and insufficient.
